I run E85 in my car, which is not "specified" for it. Also it's likely pushing the 103 octane limit. Verboten?
Thanks!

Later in the rule book it also states:
It would be nice to see ethanol listed to avoid any confusion.

Dear Mr. Turkeylord,
From our soon to be posted 2016 SORC Rule Book:
"Fuel: No fuel may be added to the vehicles tank until after returning to Arnold via the prescribed return route. Any competitor adding fuel or with a supplemental fuel tank will be immediately disqualified.Fuel tanks may not be larger than original factory capacity. Modified or kit cars are limited to fuel tanks no larger than 20-gallon capacity. Maximum octane level is 103. E85 fuel is not permitted in either the Street or Super Street class. Injection into the engine of any substance other than the specified gasoline, diesel, propane, methanol/water, or nitrous oxide is prohibited."
Even if E85 was permitted it is very doubtful that your car could travel the forty miles to the shoot out site, make three passes, and return without adding fuel. As you know it takes almost double the amount of E85 compared to gasoline to travel the same distance.

Well that's unfortunate.
I don't see how I'd have a problem with fuel capacity? The factory tank is 16.9 gallons.
Making some worst-case assumptions here, a 90 mile transit at 15mpg will burn 6 gallons (I do better). A gallon a minute during the pulls (I burn less) and 30 second 1/2 mile (I'll be faster) that's only 1.5 gallons.
So that's 7.5 gallons, less than 1/2 a tank.

Dear Mr. Turkeylord,
Due to a decision made by the SORC Board of Directors alcohol and alcohol blended fuels are now permitted for use in any and all classes of the SORC. So you can now put on a happy face and pump that corn juice into your tank. Don't know what kind of car you are running but what other "alkyheads" tell me is that if the engine is large displacement it takes as much as twice the fuel when compared to gasoline. Regardless, bring that puppy to the shootout and beat on it like it was a baby seal. You will have a great time. See you in August.
